Description

This is a somewhat impressive, spacious family home in the heart of this popular, lively village. With four bedrooms, three receptions and three bathrooms, there is flexible space here for the busiest of families!

Pulling outside Hatherlands, I was intrigued to know what was going to greet me beyond the front door.

Secluded from the road, the house is very smart yet unassuming from the front but I was quite overwhelmed when our lovely vendor showed me around, joined by the equally lovely Maisey, the labradoodle!

This is a substantial and impressive family home, offering everything you could wish for from a family home in the countryside. Flexibility, space, village locations, light, and no work to do = my idea of the perfect property.

Set back from the road, the front lawn is edged by hedges, obscuring the property from the road, giving a degree of privacy which, I like. To the front there is parking for several cars, and the former garage has been transformed into ancillary useable space and fronted by a lean to/low roof incorporating a log store, storage/bike room and the 'back door'. The attractive oak front door is set to the right of this and opens into a welcoming entrance hallway with its appealing stone tiled floor and stairs to the first floor.

To your left is the 'back door' (a stable door and the entrance to use when bringing in wet dogs or muddy children!) into the boot room. There is loads of space here for all your walking paraphernalia and a practical wooden floor. A glazed door leads into the large utility room, what a great size - plenty of storage, worktops, and space for all your laundry appliances, as well as the boiler. I can see this being a great room for ironing. From the main hallway, there is what I initially thought to be a cloakroom, but was in fact a downstairs shower room, nicely fitted with a modern suite and sympathetically tiled. Adjacent to this is a large, extra reception room - presently used as a home office - with its large window to the front, this could have a plethora of uses, including a music room, play room, snug or an additional bedroom (so handy with the shower facilities next door). As a home office, there is suffice space for 2-3 people to work comfortably.
