We’ve got everything you need from a country pub near you.
Situated in Castleton for hundreds of years, the Castle is steeped in spooky local legends. These tales tell of no less than four spirits haunting the grounds of The Castle, including a jilted bride. An integral part of the local community, we were also a stop-off point for the Wellington Express coach, which travelled between Manchester and Sheffield in the 1800's.
Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, including our steak & mushroom pie and beer-battered fish and chips. Why not try some of our new seasonal dishes like Asparagus & ricotta ravioli or Roasted Salmon with vine tomatoes & pesto.
We look forward to welcoming you, and we’ll ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, lager, fine wines, British gin and soft drinks to suit every taste — which will taste all the better when enjoyed in our beautiful and picturesque gardens.
